Home of Giants & Ancient Baobabs
Tarangire is famous for its huge herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees. It offers a quieter, yet spectacular, safari experience compared to its northern neighbors.
The dry season from June to October sees animals congregate around the Tarangire River, making it the prime time for viewing.
Aside from elephants, look out for lions, leopards, cheetahs, and rare antelope species like the fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk.
Game drives, guided walking safaris, and night game drives (allowed here but not in many other parks).
